Needlework Challenge-Complete

I managed to finish stitching my needlepoint challenge today and in the end, only had to match two colours.

This block is stitched using Byzantine stitch and eyelet filler stitch.

For this block, perle cotton was used for the elongated cross stitch base which was then tied down with the medium green stranded cotton using straight stiches. Irregular Symrna Stitch was used to fill the space between the cross stitches. Elongated cross stitch in pink was then stitch over the intersections on the base cross stitches.

I like the next block. The perle cotton formed an insertecting grid using straight stitches and then then upright cross stitches were used to tie down the intersections.
There were four blocks stitched the same to form the border. Perle cotton was used for the large cross stiches, then on the centre intersection, small upright cross stitches were used to tie them down. The medium green was used to tie down the "legs" and then using three strands of the dark green, little straight stitches were used over the ends of the perle stitches. And here is the whole block complete.

I really enjoyed stitching this and can't wait for the next challenge. It's been a really long time since I have done any needlepoint like this and have been reminded how much I enjoyed it.

I was going to do D's jumper this evening, but we are all cuddled up on the settee watching Miss Marple instead.
