It's finished
The picture here is not a true colour, in reality it is more purple. I tried different lights and backgrounds, but it still came out blue!
The stems and leaves were outlined in stem stitch and then filled with satin stitch. The veins were over stitched with long stitches.
When the boys saw it completed, D asked if I had based it on one of the pansies in the garden. I was so pleased as this is the flower I was using for the colour and shading.
It was well worth stiching until a quarter to midnight, I just had to get it finished Friday. Couldn't wait until Saturday.
Looking forward to the next one. Think I will do the rose next. I am still deciding on what technique to use. I love this type of embroidery but would like to try something new.

Beautifully stitched. I always envy people who can stitch freestyle so neatly. I can never get stem stitch to look neat.
