Day 7-TAST

Though it was Wednesday, I did my Take a Stitch on Tuesday from Stitchin Fingers today. This weeks stitch is algerian eye stitch and it's variations. It is a very versatile stitch.

This is one of my favourite patches. I used the algerian eye stitch to create flowers and then added this bee bead.

Here I have covered the whole section with algerian eye, using the print on the fabric as a guide. I find it interesting seeing the pattern develop when you put these stitches all together.

I've just used some buttons to put in the middle of the stitch here.

Algerian eye stitch is ideal for doing hearts, I find it really effective.

This section, I am still playing with. I used the buttons to edge along the seam and adding half algerian eye between them. This patch will develop more tomorrow.

I was hoping to have completed this today, but I had a lovely afternoon out with a friend in town. It was a real treat, met up for coffee and went for a glass of wine. She even treated me to the knitting needles I needed. So tonight, it's going to be an early night for me.

these are great - I particularly like the second photo - it almost looks like a Japanese Sashiko pattern. and the heart is really effective.

I am hoping to make this into a quilt with the other blocks I am doing for TAST. This is a matter of killing more than one bird with one stone! I haven't done patchwork for years, never cq, my son wants me to make a quilt, and I am doing TAST, so I thought I would incorporate it all in one project. Time will only tell how it goes
