Creative Tuesdays-Limits

The theme for this weeks Creative Tuesday challenge was Limits.

When I think of limits, I thought of boundaries and that led on to the thoughts of warning signs telling you not to cross those boundaries, or danger signs of problems that are ahead.  It seemed to fit in with a project I wanted to do for DS2.

Here is one of his favourite t shirts which he has now outgrown, and as it really suited his sense of humour, I wanted to find a way to keep it.
I made it into a sign he could hang on his door.
I marked out where to cut, backed each side of the t shirt with stiff interfacing and placed some batting between the layers.  I cut to size and then used recycled felt for the edging.  It gives a more industrial feel than using fabric.  After adding the hanging tab at the top, it is now ready for hanging.

DS1 has seen it and thinks DS2 will love it.  It is going to hide away for a couple of months, and then we shall see.

You are just too clever. It's not always easy to think up 'boy' stitching projects. This is so perfect!

What a great idea for turning a beloved old t-shirt into a keepsake.

Too cute! I'm going to have to use that one. I don't have enough T-shirts for a quilt but something like this would really work. Thanks for the great idea!

Very clever way to recycle a favorite t-shirt! And it's perfect for the theme, too! ;) Actually this one would be easy for you...every seam is a boundary, right? ha.

A good use of an old t--warning, stay out of my room! LOL. I needed one of those as a teenager in fact. hee. talk about good recycling. thank you for your contribution here. And thank you too for your thought process written down here. Betsy is so right --each edge is its won boundary too and as Annie said, it is hard to come up with stuff for us boys, isn't it? :)

You have a wonderful understanding of a son's boundaries. Good strategy to hide the tee away for a couple of months!
