Something A Little Different

I've always enjoyed learning new things, and with the advent of the internet, learning new stitching techniques have got a lot easier.  I've always love the look of Hardanger, but had been afraid to try it.  Although I'd read instructions in magazines, I really needed to see the technique in action.  Over a year ago, I did a class and found it wasn't as scary as I thought, so I decided I'd try more of it,  It's taken some time, but this week, I finally decided to try more of it with the help of this link -http://www.needlework-tips-and-techniques.com/learn-hardanger.html.

This is my piece for lesson one.  Although I'd done the kloster blocks before, the needleweaving and the filling stitches were new to me.
All in all, it was pretty straight forward to do.  I have lesson two prepared, but need to finish the project on my hoop first.

Oh no, this is one area I won't be following in your footsteps! I was at our Guild today, and there was a full day workshop on Hardanger in progress. I peeped over shoulders to see how they were progressing and even though all the ladies said they were enjoying it, it still looked too hard for me! I like your work in the blue thread.
