Catnip pouches and recycled stuffing

Sorting through my fabric oddments, I found I still had some of the cat motif fabric.  There were only six left, so just enough to make up three catnip pouches.

Inside there is a separate cotton pouch filled with catnip, and a bell to add a little jingle.  They are then stuffed and stitched up.

The stuffing I used this time was from my TUSAL jar.  The one on the left was stuffed so full of orts, I couldn't get any more in. In fact, they would spill out when the lid was opened.  Even after stuffing these three, the jar isn't empty.

Great way to recycle all the thread remnants, and cheap too.

Very cute and a great idea. I'm all for the using orts as stuffing too. And with all the stitching you do, it's not surprising you still have some left over!

Oh, now this is a great idea! Seems I have a lot of shredded yarn around the house these days.

Lovely - my cat goes into hyper-drive when he has been on the catmint.

Great idea...I use my remnants and make dog beds and give to the dog shelters but little stuff can be good for cats too..I'll have to do some of these. Cute cat fabric. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Linda

Cute little cushions, Jane! Thanks for your compliment on my blog about my quilt. It will be the first and last quilt I make, I can guarantee! My back is aching so much today after bending over it yesterday, and my hands aren't much better. Think I'll stick to the small stuff from now on.
I've got about enough thread remnants to fill a humbug or biscornu. Guess I don't do enough stitching!
