Skill Builder Sampler-Arizona

Triangles are definitely not my most favourite part of piecing, so you can imagine my dismay when I saw the block for this weeks Skill Builder Sampler, Arizona.
Not easily put off, I got out my fabric and got started.  Bit by bit, I made it to the end of the block, and I must say, it's turned out a lot better than the last time I attempted a block like this.

Fortunately, we are moving away from triangles for a little while, so I can look forward to next weeks block.

Not my favorite either but lots of practice later and different ways to make them I'm improving and so is my willingness to make a block with them. Like your block and the colors.

Wow that look hard. Lots of pieces. Good job.

Looks like you've mastered that skill. You can check that off the list now!

Looks great! I love the look of triangles - my favorite look. On the other hand getting the look can be complicated. Yours look so neat and pretty.

I hate triangles too. But I have learned to do them when I made the Gone to Texas quilt at my local quilt shop. I still don't like to do them but most quilts have them in them.

This Block looks amazing.

Good work Jane. Your block looks great. That's why this is called a skill builder, right? Yes, we all have to work on things we don't like but as long as you can do them, that's the important thing.

Your block looks great, and I like the way you put the fussy cut flower in the center.

I never done triangle blocking on quilting! You did a very beautiful piece!

Persistence pays off - well done, Jane! Love the fabrics you've used, and it is very neat. With my attempt at this second triangle block, I'm sticking to 100% cotton - I don't want to be trimming frayed edges again like the first time, lol!

I feel queasy at the thought of all those teeny tiny triangles. Yours are so beautiful and crisp. Obviously the old adage about practice and perfect is true!
