Not always a success

Not everything I try turns out the way it should.  This felt flower was the free kit from the second issue of Mollie Makes.  There were minimal instructions, but I didn't really like how it turned out.
It's definitely not wasted, I've tried it, didn't like it, but it's is hanging from the handle on my cupboard.

Much more successful, was my hunt for buttons. I tried a stall in the Sheffield Markets I've not used before, and found a very helpful lady who picked out some lovely buttons to try.  It will be worth going back, just for the service, and now the cardigan and baby jacket are completely finished.

Now, I think I am off to do something I know I will be happy with and enjoy at the same time.

I think the flower came out nice. And the buttons look great. It is hard to find buttons sometimes that you really like with something you made.

Looks like the button lady is a great find. Those buttons are perfect.

The felt flower may grow on you (no pun intended!) now that you have it hanging.

Those buttons are lovely and really finish things off. I agree with Annie over the flower. Sometimes we just need to not look at things for a while.

Buttons seem to me to always be a pain. I can never make a decision! I like your buttons though. Perfect.

I'm glad you were able to get the buttons you needed. The flower might look nice on a bag, if you had the right color of fabric! :0)

I spent three days last week searching the shops for buttons, only to find the perfect ones hidden in a box in the sewing loft! Perhaps I need to take a leaf from your book and have a bit of a sort out!

It feels good to get things finished off.
