I saw these pincushions in one of the Mollie Makes magazines, and as I like pincushions, I really wanted to give it a try. I wasn't too sure if I would be able to get the emery powder for inside, but after an Internet search, and a phone call to a very pleasant lady, I soon had a bag of emery powder in my possession.
Although the size make these fiddly to do, they are very simple to make, and didn't take long at all. A five inch square of fabric gave me two pincushions. I have lots more emery sand, so there could be some more of these in the future.

very cute!
they just need some short cake and whipped cream. Nice work
Those came out perfect. I always hesitate to try one because that sort of thing is so fiddly and I get frustrated.
And yours actually have real emery inside! You don't see that much anymore.
Those are lovely. Well done!
Nice strawberries! Glad you could get the emery powder for them so easily! :0)
Very cute! I didn't know you put emery powder inside. I've always used plain, old fibre filling. No doubt the emery powder would keep the pins nice and sharp.
I saw these on the cover of Mollie Makes and yours are certainly cover worthy.
