This seemed the perfect project for the Friday Night Sew In-a jam pot cover. This was a cover kit from issue 4 of Discover Needlecraft. I inherited this series of magazines and I'm gradually working my way through them.
This design was stitched using Madeira threads on 27 count evenweave fabric. Once the design was was stitched, I hand stitched the hem. All I need now is some blackberries to make some jam to use the pot cover.
I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has been stitching.

Very cute! I could decide between applique or cross-stitch, but stuck to applique
Your jam pot cover is adorable. I especially like the design and the colors you chose to use. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely! Guess I could have taken part in the Friday Night Sew In as I actually did sew last night! Who knew?? LOL
Lovely. I would be scared to use it in case I got jam on it.
Oh, how cute...looks great. I can't believe you did the whole thing in one night. Good job. What will you do with the edges? hugs, Linda
Very sweet. Great excuse to eat some tasty jam!
Very cute cross stitch! Family plans changed me being able to participate this month.
Beautiful! I wouldn't let it near an open jar of jam tho! LOL
