This is my first submission to Creative Tuesdays. The theme this time is travel.
I chose hot air balloons as I spent a good number of years living in Bristol. Every year the city hosted the International Balloon Fiesta, which we would attend most years. It was always my dream to go up in a balloon, and I am still dreaming. I think it would be the perfect way to view the countryside.
This may be the closest I get to the dream for a few more years.
I finished this embroidered and quilted piece as a wall hanging. All I need to do now, is find the perfect place for it to hang.

This looks like a real piece of an art! Wow! I really love it! Incredible work here!
Oh Jane...that is so beautiful! It just takes my breath away! I used to crew for a hot air balloon and I was lucky enough to get to go up a couple of times. It's a feeling like no other to be looking down on the world from a balloon!
This is so beautiful. At the Chatsworth Country fair each year there are so many balloons that go up first thing in the morning. If it is a nice day, the early morning mist just seems to make them seem so ethereal as you drive towards them.
What a beautiful piece. Your stitching is lovely. I like the white on white.
They are beautiful. They look so delicate --- as though they are floating.
This is so lovely. I like the white on white...
I'll let you fly in one of these for me, it's never been anything I would care to do. I'm not too scared of heights as long as I have something stable around me. These just don't seem stable enough for me. A balloon and a basket, I don't think so! Hugs, Linda
Beautiful, just beautiful. The two years we were in Bristol, we never say balloon because of the bad weather lol. I like looking at them but you will never get me up in one lol
Oh my, that wallhanging is gorgeous! Great job!
How lovely! That turned out beautifully. As did your quilt squares from the other day (I didn't notice that one stripe 'til you mentioned it...) :)
Wow, that is really really clever and how incredibly talented you are too. I love it. A great hand done Creative Tuesday project for your foray into our co-op. thanks so much for doing this. be sure to sign up for the next one on Tuesday too! OK, putting it on my sidebar now so others can come and see your handiwork. Whoa!
It's beautiful. How about above your bed, so you can float away in your dreams.
Jane
I really love this one - you have produced a wonderful piece of work. I hope you achieve your ambition sooner rather than later.
Welcome to CT. This is an amazing piece. Can't more creative than stitchery.

Oh this is gorgeous. Hope you get to fulfil your dream. :0)
It really is a stunning piece of work, Jane! The muted pastel shades are so beautiful. I've seen several embroidered and patchwork hot air balloon projects, and they have all been brightly coloured, which is fine, but yours is very special.
Ken gave me a gift voucher for a hot air balloon flight for my 50th birthday, and it was the most fantastic experience - I loved it!
This is fantastic! I hope you will not have to wait too long before you go up in a balloon.
It's so pretty. Hang it where you'll see it all time.
this is a fantastic entry to Creative Tuesdays and welcome!
Welcome to Creative Tuesday. You are so talented, that is a piece of art. I love the clouds.
wow! beautifully done and certainly deserves to be hang and admire
Your balloons are fabulous. Even though I live just down the M4 from Bristol I've never been to the balloon festival, really must try and get there
Oh, very nice and perfect for the theme! I'm glad you joined us...it's a lot of fun! I went on a hot air balloon ride...it was amazing..hope you get to go some time!
Very cleaver - lovely idea too.
Welcome to Creative Tuesdays! Your hot air balloons are great. I like the subtle colors. It looks like they would go well in any decor.
That is really beautiful!! I can't take my eyes away from the detail and the way you created the clouds! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!
