Feeling Blue

The biggest task that I needed to do while the boys were away, was to get Jonathan's quilt finished.

The top had been pieced a long , and for several months, it had been sat waiting with the backing and batting, ready for the quilting.  After the struggle with doing the free motion quilting for Daniel's, I decided on simple straight lines/

It's now quilted, bound, washed and dried, ready for use.  Not sure when it will be used yet, it's going away in the pressie cupboard.

A Quilting Finish

It's been a long time, but eventually, I have a quilt finished.  This top was made last year, for the red month in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and although I had fully intended to finish before now, it's finished in this year's red month.

 I did just simple straight line quilting, either side of the seams.  On the sides and across the top and bottom, there are three lines of quilting.

I got some red spotted fabric for the back, with a black strip top and bottom. 

I have another quilt ready to be completed, just have to get it all sandwiched together and to the machine.

Small Quilt Talk Challenge No 11

Having got some more of the correct white, I was able to go back and finish the basket quilt.  I only needed three more white squares to finish the front.

Once the front was done, it was time to decide on the back.  I had a piece of the pink striped fabric that kept in with the pink theme I was using.  I squared off the piece and added more white for the borders to make it big enough.

After simple quilting, I also used the white for the binding. The table quilt measures about 24" square.

The small pieces in the block may have been a challenge, but it was one I enjoyed doing, and I look forward to the next one.

Borders Added

The blue quilt now has it's borders.

 Not to be outdone, Bear decides he'll have his minute of fame.

He just walked straight across to jump to the window to have a nose at what was going on.

Now, I need to buy some fabric for the back and binding.
