Over the last few weeks, both the boys rooms have been emptied, cleaned, and everything put back in. The washing machine was working overtime to keep up with all the dirty washing that came out, and at the end, I had a pile of odd socks.
Being one that doesn't like seeing things go to waste, I had to find something to do with them, and we came up with...
doggy toys! These are made from socks plaited together and secured at the ends. I did have three of them, but Finley has already run off with one.
Each one used five socks(although it can be done with four), so you can work out how many odd socks there were, and yes, there are more where these came from.

great idea Jane.xx
great use for all thoes orphans. Glad the dog enjoyed his treasure.
Glad the dog is happy. That is an amazing number of socks to lose!
What a great idea! Shame we don't have a dog! LOL
What a great idea. But no dog and no kids to lose their socks, so I do not have any odd socks.
What a splendid idea.
hahha.. great idea... I just have never been able to work out where the other socks go to?

It's a good idea as long as the dog doesn't start thinking all socks are fair game. That would be my biggest worry--especially since I have more than a few that are hand knit!
I had a laugh when I saw this. When my boys were younger I was always left wondering what happened to their socks? There always seemed to be lots of odds ones around. Your idea to use them as dog toys is brilliant.
