Despite my best endeavours, the red fabric scraps are not disappearing, in fact, they are multiplying. I thought a rainbow quilt of hexie flowers might be something to aim for at the end of the year, so here is my red offering.
I shall keep the same centre for all the flowers and then shall probably mount the flowers onto the same colour fabric. I shall have a look for some lovely background fabric and sashings. As I have twelve months, I have plenty of time to choose.

This is going to look very pretty. It's amazing how far scraps will go isn't it?
Oh my word...that's spooky. I have a huge pile of hexes cut and ready to sew into a quilt. It's a project for the autumn for me I think.
Great minds!
oh I love patchwork. It's so therapeutic.
I love hexies and that is a good way to use up scraps.
It's always a surprise to me to go upstairs and see a sea of blue and sometimes green yarn. I am not sure how it gets there, though I know I have bought it myself. I forget how much I own of certain colors. I think you may have the same problem in red. No worries though...it's all pretty--not to mention vibrant! Let it multiply if it wants.
I think you should keep making red hexies until you run out of red! LOL
I love making hexies....yours will be great.
It'll be lovely. The same colour flower centre and background will make it striking. I agree with you completely about the scraps. I think we put in one piece of fabric and that has a ripple effect and another two appear. lol
