The quilt has been hand quilted, bound, washed and dried
I quite like the lack of borders on the side, and I enjoy the hand quilting on these small quilts. I'm just hoping my finger tip hardens up quickly, it gets a little sore.
That is really pretty! The hand-quilting is such a nice touch. I know so little about doing that. How do you get the lines straight? Do you pin or mark the fabric in some way? And do you use a traditional sewing stitch technique rather that the 'stab' method we use in x-stitch?
It looks really lovely. You can get an Ultra Thimble - that sticks to your fingertips by a sticky dot and is good if you don't like wearing a thimble. Using a quilter's thimble helps, too. Clover is a good brand and they have various style. You just have to find one that suits your style of hand quilting.
