Progress, Piece 2

Having done my first piece, I was eager to start on the second, however, I had to delay the start so I could go shopping for the last of the supplies Jonathan will need for college.  While I was in town, I popped into a charity shop and found four more garments that were 100% cotton or cotton/linen mix to use for my embroidery.  Most of them have a textured pattern to the fabric to add a contrast to a lot of the plain ones I already have.  One of the shirts did go to my son, it was the perfect size for him.  Every time he wears it, I will think of how it could have been in one of these embroideries.

Once we were back home, and lunch was out of the way, I was back to playing with pieces of fabric.  I have used a slightly smaller piece of muslin for the base of this one and this came together first time, none of the problems I had with the first piece.  I even prefer how this one looks.
I was just going to pin and tack the piece together ready today, but once I got that far, it was a natural progression to get the embroidery needle and thread out.
This is where I left it yesterday and already it feels so much better than the first piece.  Hopefully, I can add more to it today.

  1. These pieces are so lovely. You are doing really well with finding the fabrics. I can see that this is going to become addictive.
